Reflective Composition
2014
This work was developed while on residency at Bundanon Trust, NSW in 2014.
This work was a technical experiment for myself, and a prototype for potential larger-scale works that step away from hot glass.
This work explores the duality of the expanse of the skies and the minute structures that form the earth around us. Both have the potential to instill a sense of awe and the sublime when we take the time to experience them.
'And thus it seems that, through a sort of dialogue between the rocks and the clouds, the heavens come to imitate earth. Rocks and clouds each end where the other begins. The rocky abyss is a motionless avalanche, threatening clouds disorder in motion.'
- Gaston Bachelard
