In 2016, with assistance from Arts South Australia, I had the opportunity to spend three weeks in Decin, Czech Republic, learning tradition stone cutting. It was an intense three weeks at the lathe, and I developed my skills quite broadly in cutting patterns evenly and consistently, preparing and dressing wheels, and going from marking a piece to cut, to finishing with fine stone.

I am working towards developing new work utilising these skills, and exploring more contemporary application for  this very traditional process.
